What to expect

At the beginning of each session, or appointment, I begin with a check-in to hear about your concerns and to hear about your experience since the last time we met. I then conduct a series of assessments to observe the changes since last session, and to see holding patterns and restriction in movements that we can address for the current appointment.  I take this time to connect with everyone's individual experience in order to honour the fact that we are all unique and are always changing. Frequently at that time, I may offer a few pointers about self-care for you to do outside the session. Afterwards, I proceed to the hands-on portion of the treatment. During, I sometimes get you to move a limb or give me feedback to allow an opportunity to feel the changes as I work.

I ask that you wear comfortable underwear or loose-fitting shorts, a comfortable sport bra, and also, to refrain from putting on lotion before the appointment. The work is done on a padded table as well as on a bench. During the session, I will work on some areas more than others and I may focus on one side more than the other. This is because we do not used our bodies perfectly symmetrically and our pains and strains won’t be either. Your participation will be required from time to time, either by reaching, moving, contracting, or engaging your senses with full awareness. I will check in with you while doing the hands-on work, making sure my depth and pace is comfortable for you. We will be co-creators in this process.
