Background

I first explored with yoga in the late 90's. In 2004, I started to focus on Ashtanga yoga. To deepen my understanding of the method, in 2009, I studied at the Main shala in India with Sharath Ragaswami. Afterwards, I focused on the Mysore practice from 2009 until 2013 with Mark and Joanne Darby, both certified teachers with the Main shala. Over the years, I have attended workshops with John Campbell and Richard Freeman who are certified Ashtanga teachers as well. Although, my affection for Ashtanga continues on, it has evolved through my studies at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration and at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. My teachings are now influenced by extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, tissues, injuries and pathologies which I acquired throughout my studies at both these colleges. Whether I teach a slower pace Hatha class or an energetic flow like Ashtanga, I will adapt it to my student’s safety, tissue health, muscle imbalance and goals.

Ultimately, in my yoga classes, my teachings’ approach is to allow one to see how all aspects of our lives are interwoven and how yoga can become a gateway to observe this whole.

Yoga Training:

I completed a month intensive Hatha and Ashtanga 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2009 with Ashtanga Yoga Montreal. Which followed shortly by a year long 200 hour yoga teacher training with Mark Darby, from 2010 to 2011. Both Trainings are certified by the Yoga Alliance of North America.
