Massage therapy

Massage Therapy is in the family of the health care profession, along with physiotherapist or pharmacist in this country. Canadian Massage Therapy, especially training in British Columbia, is an extensive and intensive training of 2200 hours. The academic portion of the program dives in the fields of anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, and orthopaedic assessments and provides knowledge beyond the curriculum of many other countries.

Training:

I completed the Massage Therapy program in 2020 at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, BC.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). You can use your health coverage for your manual therapy appointments with me.

The massage therapy training in BC builds skills to safely treat the person and help them get better or manage symptoms through manual techniques. We are also trained in movements and exercises as an option for clients to take active part in their health. Relevant and appropriate exercises and movements done at home between treatments increase recovery greatly after a surgery or an injury, or assist in the management of symptoms for life long conditions.

Put simply, I can be a resource for you to work towards a better quality of life. The range of pathologies and conditions taught at the college is varied and substantial. For example, the program covers health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, fibromyalgia; orthopedic injuries such as ligament sprains, rotator cuff issues, tendonitis; central and peripheral nervous system conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, carpal tunnel syndrome; to just name a few. If you are not sure if I can help, it will be my pleasure to chat with you and, in case I am not equipped for your particular situation, I will gladly suggest a professional who would be.
